I made this easy-to-do tray as a bridal shower decoration and as a gift for the bride-to-be. If you squint just right, you might not be able to see the crapsmanship that went into its making! CRAP ALERT: My first error was in not getting a full photo gallery of my technique, but I don’t think the blog post will be harmed without a full visual explanation.
These skewers are easy to make and help you set a lovely table for a special event. In the picture at the bottom of this post, I’ve threaded one blackberry and one cube of gruyere cheese onto each skewer. Yum, yum! A beautiful green apple holds the skewers.
Several weeks ago, I posted a craft where I glammed up a faux pumpkin so it would lose some of its orange-y brightness. Today, I bought another pumpkin, antiqued it with brown craft paint, and then got the inspiration for this monogram. I already had the these pearlized pins on hand from another project. I purchased these in the sewing section of Wal-Mart, and they remind me of my mom and her sewing attempts. I’m afraid I come by my craftsmanship honestly!
I’m hosting a bridal shower in a couple weeks, and I wanted to make something special for our double front doors that I could also gift to the bride. I looked through Pinterest and didn’t find anything that quite struck my fancy, so I adapted several ideas to make these “Mr” and “Mrs” door hangings. They were lots of fun to make, and as an added bonus, they were fairly cheap since I was able to use much of what I already had!
