Garden Design Tips
Five years ago, Dan the Man and I had a swimming pool installed in the then-barren backyard. Yes, our unstated intention was to entice the grandkids over to Grandma’s and Grandpa’s, but we’ve probably enjoyed it more than they have. Because of the expense of the pool, though, we were unprepared for the costs of landscaping. So I randomly installed pass-along plants and made good use of cheap seeds. It looked nice, but it still needed more structure and less haphazard-ness. So I went on a quest to learn about garden design.
Hand-made Pillows
This is a pretty pillow, if I do say so myself! As I’ve mentioned before, my son and daughter-in-law are building a house. Yes, it’s taken a long time. Yes, we’re frustrated because the contractor has been dragging his feet. Yes, I’m no longer excited about the mudroom surprise design I’m creating for R and A. But one thing I’m proud of is the two pillows I’ve sewn for the sit-and-put-on-your-shoes bench. No crapsmanship here! Read the rest of this entry
Easy Monogram
I would argue with you if you accused me of being obsessed with monograms, but I sure do make a lot of them! This was an easy one using a $2 white R from Michaels. I first used green craft paint to cover the letter and then gloss ModPodge to give it some shine. Piece of cake! Read the rest of this entry
