I have a cork-monogrammed R on top of my refrigerator, and I always get compliments on it. When my friend Jackie K. admired it, I knew I had to make one for her. Cork projects aren’t difficult to do — after all, who minds collecting corks?! — but certain materials make the job easier.
I bought a large capital K at the craft store and painted it a matte black. After allowing time for drying, I got out my large collection of assorted corks and started gluing. I have used several types of glue on varying cork projects and have found that E-6000 works the best for me. I used a serrated knife to trim the corks to the size I wanted, especially the ones from bottles of champagne (yum!).
That’s it. An easy project (as usual!), but one with a big decorative impact.
