Last week, I told you about the underpainting I did that was full of color. Remember this?
My next step was to use chalk to sketch a field of flowers. Being a sketching crapsman, I stuck to easy flower shapes. I then used white paint to paint everything except the flowers. Here’s the first coat:
Coat #2:
I added a third coat of white paint, and then I painted on stems and leaves.
I thought it looked like something a third grader would do on a bad day, so I used pens and paint to add embellishments.
This won’t end up in the Louvre, and probably not on a wall anywhere, but the process was such fun. I enjoyed it so much, I did a second canvas, which I like even better. Maybe this one is fit for a fifth grader!
