On this Memorial Day, I’m sharing three patriotic pieces I’ve made for my house. I’ll display them from today until July 4. This one above is the largest, and it’s a mixed media piece. If you look closely, you might see the Statue of Liberty, the Star Spangled Banner, and a few other nods to the good ole U.S. of A.
The piece in the white frame is dripped and spattered watercolor. It sits proudly on a table in my living room.
The final piece hangs above a shelf in the half bath by the kitchen. The red and white stripes were painted on, and the fleur-de-lis was made from a custom-cut stamp I made. I used a stencil to overlay the white dots.
All three projects were easy and fun, and they are a continued reminder of our great country and the sacrifices others have made for our freedom.
Happy Memorial Day!
