I’ve always turned up my nose at the idea of Artist Trading Cards. I mean, why would I want to start a new collection when I hardly have room for what I already have? But when Martha, Kathy, and I scheduled a trip to Dallas for a big crafters’ conference, Martha suggested we make some ATCs in case we have the opportunity to swap with other crapspeople, er, I mean craftspeople. So I approached the task with my usual blend of ineptitude, mixed media, and luck. Here are a few of what I’ve created so far.
I used a stamp and a label on the back of each to identify the “artist.”
They’ve been strangely addictive to make, and I’ll create more before our trip in mid-September. I might even sprinkle them throughout the conference hall for my donation to found art!
You may prefer made-from-scratch brownies, but this crapswoman is perfectly okay with the boxed variety. Particularly if they have this gooey secret inside! Read the rest of this entry

I love and adore April Fool’s Day. Every year that I was a teacher, I would begin April 1 by removing all the chairs from my classroom. To be frank, today I’m just showing off. This might be the cutest thing I’ve ever made!!! Li’l Miss, aged four, had a loose tooth, and her mom asked me to make a tooth fairy pillow. After scouring Pinterest for inspiration, I combined several ideas to make this one: Read the rest of this entry
Several weeks ago, I hosted a baby shower for the daughter of a dear friend of mine. I was honoring the soon-to-be grandmother, the soon-to-be mother, and Baby Grace. Of course, my big gift was for Mother and Grace, but I couldn’t let Grams go away empty handed. I attached the label above to a bottle of champagne. The baby was born in early May, and Mother and Grace are doing fine!
